Meet the owners, Jonathan and Tana Magel, whose focus is on Gold Medal quality. After vocational training in his senior year of high school, Jonathan participated in an HVAC Olympics SkillsUSA – competition. Jonathan competed, first in locals and then the regionals. He went on to win the State SkillsUSA Gold Medal at age 18. His passion has not wavered since then, and his goal is always that the system will not just work, but also wants it to look nice when he’s finished. He doesn’t do shortcuts, because, after 30 years of experience, he still believes in THE GOLD STANDARD.

What We Do
Jonathan Magel began his HVAC/R journey after completing a 2-year certificate program at the Southern Nevada Vocational Technical Center in Las Vegas. After winning the Gold Medal in the Nevada Vocational Industrial Clubs of America competition, he entered a field full of opportunity.
Starting as a technician for a large commercial contractor, Jonathan gained experience with large-tonnage HVAC systems, industrial refrigeration, boilers, chillers, and building automation. Later, as Senior HVAC Technician at the University Medical Center, he mastered advanced control systems and energy management.
With a Nevada Mechanical Contractors License, Jonathan co-founded and operated a successful HVAC/R company and now leads Gold Medal Service, offering reliable and efficient climate solutions for businesses across Nevada.

Jonathan’s dedication to HVAC/R extends into the residential sector, where he brings comfort and reliability to homeowners throughout Las Vegas. He holds EPA 608 & 609, R-410A, and multiple manufacturer certifications from Copeland, Carrier, Trane, Honeywell, and York. He’s also a member of NATE, HVAC Excellence, ACCA, and RSES.
His passion for education led him to teach HVAC/R courses at Clark County Community College and later serve as School Director at the Advanced Training Institute, designing programs that train future technicians.
At Gold Medal Service, Jonathan combines his field expertise and teaching background to guide his team and ensure quality service in every home.
